Home' Get Up and Go : Winter 2012 Contents GetUp&Go7
The last story I slotted into this
issue of Get Up & Go was Simply
Samoa (page 50). It was a dim and
miserable morning after a night
before that saw Sydney, and indeed
the coast of NSW all the way from
the south to north, pummelled by
brutal winds and driving rain. So
culling the beautiful images that came with the story was
a slow affair. I started to dream of the Pacific and the
warm breezes, azure water, the barefoot lifestyle and a
long stay in a hammock.
And it’s not just winter that turns our heads to travel;
there are all sorts of things that creep up to encourage us
to get up and go. We read about great earlybird specials for
European cruises; suddenly decide it’s time for a good long
walk in Central Australia; finally book for the train to take
us across Australia; set down in a country totally foreign to
us – Abu Dhabi; and seeing we’ve been humming Route 66
for 40 years – hey, let’s do the drive.
You can run but you can’t hide from us! If we don’t get
you at Cambodia we’ll get you in Dorset, UK.
There’s so much here for you in this issue and while
you’re making holiday plans don’t forget to enter
Australia’s most amazing competition at the moment –
worth more than $27,000, the Great Australian Aircruise
by Bill Peach Journeys will be the trip of a lifetime.
Subscribe for a friend so they have the chance to enter –
maybe you can take up the prize together.
A visit to Alaska, a Korean temple experience, a holiday
in Samoa, a train trip on the Maharajas’ Express in India, a
stay in South Australia’s finest B&Bs or simply a sit down
